Our Story

Pagnotta’s story begins in 1967 when Mario Pagnotta came to Canada from rural Italy and started work as a site labourer. Mario’s dedication and hard work pushed him on as a successful site superintendent and, ultimately, on an entrepreneurship journey as a self-performing construction company.

Pagnotta’s big break came in 1995 when Mario earned the opportunity to help with the construction of the Greenwood Inn in Edmonton. The company also bought its first Tower Crane during this project.

It wasn’t long before the company outgrew its headquarters in the family’s basement. By 1998 Pagnotta had new corporate office space and expansive projects.

The company did a variety of construction work and bought more equipment as needed. As time went on, Pagnotta evolved into three distinct divisions: Construction, Concrete and Equipment.

As an integrated company that specializes in construction, concrete and equipment, we understand the full scope of the projects we are part of. This well-rounded understanding means our clients get better service and results, no matter what service area we’re delivering on.

As the construction industry boomed in Alberta through the early 2000s, Pagnotta continued to grow and expand its services.

In 2008 Pagnotta was awarded its largest concrete project ever: The Epcor Tower in Edmonton. This project brought the company to a new level of professionalism in its processes, its culture and its commitment to safety.

A year later Pagnotta expanded geographically as well, opening a branch in Saskatoon, SK, in 2009. In 2018, the company expanded again, opening a branch office in Vancouver, BC.

Today Pagnotta is recognized as a premier builder across Western Canada with team members across three branches. Our history, experience and quality of product speak for themselves in what we can deliver.

We will continue to grow as a company and provide exceptional service and results under our specialized Construction, Concrete and Equipment divisions.
