Mario founded Pagnotta in January of 1992. While retired from the day-to-day oversight of the company, Mario is still involved as a mentor and guide to the Executive Leadership team. With over 50 years of construction experience and solid relationships with hundreds of industry contacts and clients, Mario’s wisdom and connections help the company’s leaders accomplish Pagnotta’s strategic goals.
Alex joined Pagnotta in 1997 working as Controller and then General Manager. In June of 2015, Alex was appointed CEO. His primary focus today is to set Pagnotta’s strategic mission, vision and values and ensure the overall profitability of the company. Alex has a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Accounting from the University of Alberta.
Karl joined Pagnotta in 2003 as a Carpenter. He has held a variety of positions over the years with ever increasing responsibility such as Foreman, Superintendent, and SK Branch Manager. As VP, Operations, Karl is responsible for ensuring the operational side of the business is profitable and inline with the CEO’s vision. Karl is an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter. He is working towards his master’s in business administration. Karl is also a Board Member with the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Committee.
Joe joined Pagnotta in 2002 as a Carpenter. He has held a variety of positions over the years with ever increasing responsibility such as Foreman, Superintendent, Field Operations Manager and SK Branch Manager. In his current role as VP, Concrete, Joe is responsible for the oversight and execution of all concrete projects. Joe oversees, mentors, and guides concrete project teams to ensure that project plans are developed, implemented, and executed. Joe is working towards his master’s in business administration.
James joined Pagnotta in 2014 and in 2022 was promoted to Director of Finance. Prior to joining Pagnotta, James spent five years in public accounting, including work in industrial services, construction, real estate, and oil and gas. In his current role, James is responsible for leading the organization’s accounting, finance, administration, and information technology business units. He earned his Chartered Accountant designation in 2011 and went on to complete CPA’s In-Depth Tax Program.
David joined Pagnotta in 2013 as a Safety Advisor and worked to a Director role in 2016. David’s primary responsibility is to establish and maintain a safe work environment by developing and enforcing policies, overseeing regulatory compliance, providing employee training, and serving as the principal company representative for all Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) matters. David has a Health and Safety Administrator Certificate from the SCSA and a Health and Safety Professional designation from CAPSC.
Derrick joined Pagnotta in 2002 as a Superintendent. In his current role as Field Operations Manager, Derrick is responsible for ensuring concrete projects, staff and sub-trades in BC are executing the project on time and within budget. Derrick drives field performance by managing daily productivity, safety and quality objectives. Derrick obtained his Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter ticket in 1997 and has over 25 years experience managing complex concrete projects with expertise in high rise, mixed used buildings.
Jeremy joined Pagnotta in 2008 as a part-time labourer. In 2010 Jeremy was hired full time as Project Coordinator and was promoted to Project Manager in 2012. In Jeremy’s current role as Team Lead, PM Concrete he is responsible for the overall success and execution of Pagnotta’s concrete projects and leads and mentors concrete project managers and coordinators. Jeremy has a Construction Engineering Technologist diploma from NIAT and is a recognized Gold Seal (GSC) Project Manager with the Canadian Construction Association.
Harsharan joined Pagnotta in 2012 as a Project Coordinator. He has also worked as a Project Manager and is currently the Lead Estimator in the concrete division. Harsharan has a Master’s Degree in Construction Engineering and Management from the University of Alberta and is a certified PMP.
Michael joined Pagnotta in 2014 as a Superintendent. In his current role in Construction Manger for Pagnotta Construction, Mike is responsible for the overall support of the project teams and project success.
He is involved with the projects from inception to completion, supporting the multitude of stakeholders, driving towards a successful project. Mike is actively involved in all aspects of the job safety, quality, production and customer care. Mike graduated college in 2002, obtained his PMP in 2021 and earned his P. GSC designation in 2020 as a superintendent.
Mike has over 20 years experience in managing complex, unique mixed use buildings of varying types of construction.
